Kenyans Abroad Conference: Shem Ochuodho Receives Award of Excellence

WILMINGTON: The recipient of the prestigious 2006 Kenyan Community Abroad (KCA) Excellence Award has castigated the Kibaki government for not living up to the people’s expectations. In his one-hour long acceptance speech Saturday night at the KCA 2007 conference in Delaware , Dr. Shem Ochuodho said “there are many good things the NARC government has done but there are many others that the government has not only failed to do but has aggravated”. Mr. Ochuodho is the recipient of this year's KCA Award of Excellence.

Kenyans Abroad Told Dual Citizenship Is Coming

WILMINGTON - Kenyans living abroad and holding citizenships of other countries will soon enjoy dual citizenship. The Kenyan Minister for planning and national development has revealed. Henry Obwocha was addressing the annual Kenya Community Abroad conference in Delaware. Honorable Obwocha was the keynote speaker at the group’s tenth anniversary celebrations being observed during this weekend’s conference.

Kenyans Abroad Conference Gets Underway

WILMINGTON - The Kenya Community Abroad (KCA) 2007 conference is underway at the Marriot by the University of Delaware. The conference opened with a call to all Kenyans in the Diaspora to get involved in the formulation of policy in their motherland. The call was made by the KCA president Mkawasi Mcharo who noted “there is nothing that happens in Kenya that does not affect us.” She said “it is our responsibility as Kenyans to participate in setting policies and engage in political discourse. Policies that affect us are created by other people, yet it’s our duty to engage fully as Kenyans.”
